Wanting to find out more about fair-trade and social justice?
Head to these websites to find out more information, buy fair-trade or to book a '1.4 Billion Reasons' talk with Global Poverty Project.

An amazing youth run organisation working towards an end to global poverty. Through initiatives such as The Roadtrip to End Poverty and Live Below the Line as well as their Generate and Schools 4 Schools programs, Oaktree is an inspiring organisation to be a part of and I am glad to be involved.

Most people have heard of the St. Vincent de Paul Society but are unaware of its beginnings. I find the founder to be one of my sources of inspiration. At just 20 years old, Frederic Ozanam gathered his friends and held the first Vinnies meeting in Paris in 1833. Now, the society operates in 130 countries and has over 950 000 members. All it takes is one person to step up and do something.

Global Poverty Project educates the community through their presentation '1.4 Billion Reasons'. Their aim is to increase the number and effectiveness of people taking action to see an end to extreme poverty. With 1.4 billion people living in extreme poverty that gives us 1.4 billion reasons to do something about it.

The Make Poverty History is a coalition of over seventy different aid and development organisations as well as community and faith based groups. Together the goal is to work towards an end to extreme poverty by working on the Millennium Development Goals outlined by the United Nations and through a series of campaigns educating our communities and government.

3Things is an initiative by Oxfam Australia where young people are encouraged to share three things they can do to change the world. It can be an inspiring read. Young people can create change in our world.

Even before I worked at the Oxfam Shop, I loved their products and the stories behind each item. The philosophy of sharing and promoting fair trade is just beautifully done within the Oxfam Shop.
